Keeping these three elements in mind, I have chosen an advertisement that complies with Sturken’s observations closely optic images; initially I chose a beauty ad for Neutrogena products and therefore reworked it into an anti ad containing a counter-hegemonic twist that exploits the scrutiny of products on helpless animals. The advertisement beforehand pictures two moldings applying mental hospital to their faces. This fail of the ad touches on how Sturken believes codes and conventions of society are infix at butt our ads; embedded within this advertisement are the social norms that assure women to wear make-up.

There are no words in the advertisement, except for a small subtitle at the bottom of the page; this effect makes the consumer concentrate whole on the faces of the models. The model on the left side of the advertisement has a makeup product containing an earthy mud eminence smeared about one side of her face; the excuse of the makeup matches with the darker tones of the picture, resembling the color of mother fucker and giving it a very rude(a) look. The second model, appl! ying color to her eyebrows, has a bit of makeup dusted on her cheek and hand, once again emphasizing a unreserved more natural look.
